Ingredients:
Chicken, cut into small cubes 1 kg
Yogurt 1 cup
Green chillies 6
Ginger / garlic 1 1/2 tsp
Almonds, whole 18
Butter 1 1/2 tbsp
Garam masala powder 1 tsp
Oil or desi ghee 3 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ingredients for gravy:
Onions, finely chopped 5 medium
Tomatoes, finely chopped 5 medium
Green chillies, finely chopped 4
Chili powder 1 tsp
Coriander powder 1/2 tsp
Oil or desi ghee 3 tbsp
Method:
Mix yogurt, green chillies, almonds, ginger and garlic and grind finely. Combine yogurt mixture with chicken, salt, butter and garam masala powder and leave for 2 hours. Heat ghee or oil, add marinated chicken and fry on medium heat, cover the saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes till chicken is tender and cooked.
Gravy:
Heat ghee or oil and fry onions till golden brown. Add green chillies, tomatoes and other spices. Fry till tomatoes becomes soft and cooked. Add this gravy to the cooked chicken, mix well and add some water. Cover the saucepan and simmer for 10 minutes, till oil separates from gravy.
Serve with naan or paratha.
