Ingredients:
1½ kg chicken, cut into 12 pieces
1 tbsp onion, chopped
¾ tsp ginger paste
¾ tsp garlic paste
1½ – 2½ tsp red chillies, coarsely ground
1 tsp each coriander and cumin seeds roasted and coarsely ground
Pinch of turmeric
2 inch piece cinnamon stick
3 stalks curry patta
Juice of 4 lemons
4-5 tbsp instant coconut powder
600 ml water
2-3 tbsp oil
Method:
* Mix all the ingredients except oil and boil until chicken is tender. Remove chicken pieces from gravy and fry till slightly brown.
* Pour gravy over the chicken and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
* Serve with boiled rice.
